Trouble Having Difficult Conversations?

facilitated by the ODN Board of Directors

Effective leaders need to balance both reason and emotion when directing their teams and having difficult conversations.  We know giving constructive feedback can be a delicate affair. A leader’s approach can either:

·  Make or break the quality of teamwork;

·  Enhance or diminish employees' motivation;  OR

·  Retain talent or lead them to jump ship to competitors

 But avoiding it altogether is no solution. Most of us want to receive feedback that improves how we work—just as long as it's delivered constructively.  Feedback and coaching is a gift for growth and development.

Join us, the Board of Directors:  Jackie Covey, Stephanie Kasparek, Jamie Kelly and Laura Stannard to share tools and resources to better enhance your difficult conversations skills that include:

  • What are good openers to begin a difficult conversation
  • How do you go about preparing for a difficult conversation
  • Strategies in responding to negative employee reactions during difficult conversations
