Real Scenarios, Real Decisions: Coaching and Development Options Explored
Facilitated by: Aimee Gibson - Brave Joy Leadership; Jamie Kelly - Coach Jamie Kelly
As we start 2026, many people start to look at a year full of opportunities and possibilities. At this time, when many start to set their goals, let's spend time together discussing how coaching may play a part.
This interactive session will help participants better understand the differences between coaching, mentoring, consulting, and therapy. Using a scenario-based approach, Aimee and Jamie will guide participants in learning the different approaches and expected outcomes of these different development opportunities.
Come prepared to learn and share. Feel free to bring specific scenarios for the group to discuss. At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Discern the outcomes expected when referring a leader to a coach vs a consultant vs a mentor vs a therapist.
- Describe different types of coaches by understanding the differences in approaches and outcomes.
- Use guidelines to consider when to use an internal coach vs an external coach.
