Everyday vs. Formal Coaching for OD Practitioners

Presented by Sally Waters, MA SPHR CPCC

OD practitioners, both internal and external, use coaching as a methodology all the time -- with individual clients, groups, teams. Our skill set includes the communication, relational, and emotional awareness and capacities to be effective in supporting others to reach their goals through a structured or semi-structured process. So what’s the difference between this everyday thing we do (Everyday Coaching or EC) and the more formal coaching that you can get certified in and make a living doing exclusively (Formal Coaching or FC)?

Join us for a highly interactive session where we name those differences, identify and practice some basic FC tools you can apply to EC, and explore when EC should really move into FC and how the OD practitioner can reach out for resources to support that shift.

We’ll have the richest learning event if our audience includes experienced (and certified) coaches as well as those brand new to the concept of formal coaching. The relationships in the room will be our most profound teaching source. So please come even if you could be leading this session…because you will be!
